Micro Beaded Dolphin Card

I made this card for a new school principal. Can you tell their mascot is a dolphin? I didn’t have an appropriate dolphin stamp, so I created a digital one. I would like to share the digi stamp with you. You can download a zip file with a jpg version and a png version [HERE].
I used clear mini micro beads and clear flat back rhinestones to embellish the dolphin. I used O’So Sticky Tape to adhere them to the image. Pennywise Arts Yahoo group has a “Dollar Store Art Challenge” going on right now. I purchased a small 4×6 photo album a while back. I decided to alter and embellish it with papers, stamps, stickers, and clear Pennywise Arts Micro Beads. I had a lot of fun creating this. I am going to make it a family album/brag book. I hope you all like it!

Small Vintage Image Notebooks

I needed a small “Thank You” gift for one of the teachers’ that my husband works with. I decided on 4 small embellished notebooks. I liked them so much that I made two more. See below for instructions and pics.

You will need adhesive, notebooks, cardstock to cover the notebooks, cardstock for layering, vintage images, a punch, micro beads www.pennywisearts.com/beadsopaque.html , O’So Sticky Tape www.pennywisearts.com/tape.html and any embellishments that you want to use. I used images from one of my (Swing Shift Designs) collage sheets. You can purchase the collage sheets at

1. Gather your supplies:

2. Cut your cardstock to size. Measure from the bottom front to the bottom back, going over the binding of the notebook. Add about 1/2 to an inch more so you can open the notebook easily. Adhere the cardstock.

3. Cut more cardstock to frame the focal image. Use as many layers as you like. Use a punch to make some decorative elements. Go around the edges with ink or a pen.

4. Adhere O’So Sticky Tape to the back of the decorative punched elements. Then sprinkle on the micro beads.

5. Layer everything together:

Adhere all layers.

6. Add any embellishments you want. I used some cording and rhinestones.

Organizing My Craft Desk!

I decided that I didn’t want to use horizontal paper trays anymore. I want vertical ones now. So, I turned my horizontal ones on their side and glued them for stability. It turned out really well! It is much easier to get single sheets of paper out now.

I’ve been organizing my two craft rooms for what seems like forever! I just finished organizing my unmounted stamps. I filled up 21 photo boxes with unmounted stamps, See D’s, and self inking stamps. I am still not done! I have several stamps that I purchased in “grab bags”. They are in a box for the time being, since I looked through them and couldn’t decide if I was ever going to use them or not. Some are just not my style. Not that I have a style, I pretty much like anything. I especially like flowers, collages, and people. My absolute favorites are Asian images.

Here is a pic of the unmounted stamps that I organized. Now I just have to find room for them on a shelf! I already have my wood mounted stamps organized in several 8 1/2 x 11 clamshell boxes, kinda like how SU has their stamps.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Wow, where does the time go? April and May have been very busy for me. Lots of parties, baseball games, and appointments.

I finished my Java Jolt Fat Book swap for Pennywise Arts. I can’t wait to see what the other swappers came up with!

I also signed up for PWA’s 1-4-1 ATC Swap for May. I’ve received some wonderful little works of art. I have to get mine done and mailed out before the end of the month. I better hurry and get my craft on!

Easter

We had a very nice Easter! It rained, so the kids hunted for eggs inside the house! Jerardo did two Easter Egg Hunts. One at my sister Mary’s and one at Aunt Tere’s.
