Beaded Faux Cloisonne Card
Beaded Faux Cloisonne Card 2
Materials:
Digital Flower Stamp (See Blog Candy below)
O’So Sticky Tape Sheets [Pennywise Arts]
Micro beads [Pennywise Arts]
Scissors
Liquid Pearls
Cardstock
Photo Corner Punch
Paper Leaves
3 Pieces of wire (approx. 3″ ea.)
Decorative Flower
Flat Back Rhinestones
Thick, clear fast drying glue
Diamond Glaze
Instructions:
1. Stamp the flower image onto card stock.
2. Cover the top of the image with O’So Sticky Tape.
3. Cut out the image and adhere it to a different piece cardstock.
4. Trace the stamp design on the protective sheet of the O’So Sticky paper. You will use the sheet later as a mask.
5. Remove the O’So Sticky Tape protective sheet and apply Liquid Pearls directly on the exposed O’So Sticky Tape, following the stamped image lines. Let dry.
6. After the Liquid Pearls have dried, put the mask back in place. You may have to cut the mask or fold some areas so it will fit. Start pouring your micro beads where ever you want them, onto the exposed areas of tape.
7. Remove the mask completely and sprinkle on the beads to shade some areas of the design.
8. Pour the micro beads all over the exposed tape to finish covering the image.
9. Coat the entire beaded image with Diamond Glaze and let dry.
10. Layer the image on coordinating cardstock.
11. Mount the layered image onto a card and embellish as desired. I chose to make “Micro bead Catttails”. Dip a few pieces of wire into a thick, fast drying glue. Then dip them into micro beads. Set aside to dry.
I also used flat backed rhinestones, a large photo corner, 3 leaves, and an acrylic flower to accent my design.

My bird design for PWA's Birds of a Feather Swap
I am involved with a wonderful group of artists founded by my good friend Suzanne, the owner of Pennywise Arts. Different members of the group host different “swaps” throughout the year. There is always at least 2 or 3 swaps going on at one time. The latest one I participated in was the Birds of a Feather Fat Book Swap. Everyone who signed up for the swap was instructed to make 10 decorated chipboard birds. We used Maya Road’s Song Birds Coaster Set for our base. Our birds had to be delivered to Suzanne by March 15. I chose to use different shades of pink and black. The object of a “Fat Book” swap is the make the pages (chipboard shapes) chunky and thick with embellishments. I used several flowers (acrylic and paper), rhinestones, microbeads, foam tape, and glitter to give my birds some dimension. I am happy with how they turned out! I can’t wait to receive the birds that the other artists created!

I have been using Pennywise Arts micro beads since 2004, so I really don’t know why it took me so long to think up this technique! I regularly use micro beads in just about every piece of art I create and this is just another fun way to incorporate them. They really become the focal point with this technique.

Bird ATC
I made this “Bird” ATC for a swap. I stamped the bird image with Black StazOn then I colored it in with chalks. I sprayed the images with Fixatif and then cut them out.
I stamped the background with distress ink and then used green quilling paper to make the branches. I layered it on bronze cardstock and then onto green faux parchment paper. I punched the flowers out of pink shimmer cardstock.
